The Mid Island Dahlia Society Maintains Three Gardens

  • Multiform Dahlias

    Paul Callahan Dahlia Garden

The Society maintains the Paul Callahan Dahlia Garden at the Planting Fields Arboretum. This is a must-see and a short walk from the Burns Horticultural Conference Center where our annual show is held. We meet at 9:00 AM on Wednesdays with Park volunteers to plant, maintain the garden, and teach about growing dahlias.

  • Members of the society at the trial garden

Eastern Trial Garden & Eisenhower Display Garden

The Mid Island Dahlia Society maintains a Trial Garden and a Display Garden behind the Administration Building at Eisenhower Park. Blooms are sold at CCE Nassau Farmer’s Market (Parking Field 8) on Saturdays from 9 to noon over the summer. Join us at the park Sundays from 9:00 to 11:00 AM during the growing season to learn from expert growers and help maintain the garden.

  • Cornell / East Meadow Farm Display Garden

This is a display garden, open to the public and located at the East Meadow Farm, 832 Merrick Ave, East Meadow. Members of the Dahlia Society are there every Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Read about dahlia care at East Meadow Farm
